DNV GL Maritime Academy Singapore on February 2nd 2015 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) run by Singapore Polytechnic to promote education and training in the maritime field.
The MOU which was signed between Steen Lund, Regional Manager, Maritime South East Asia & Pacific and Roland Tan, Director of SMA will cover collaboration in the following areas:
- Exchange of lecturers and trainers in maritime training and education
- Development of seminars, conferences and workshops
- Participate in joint research and developments projects
- Practical training and projects (internships) for students at DNV GL
“DNV GL is pleased to enter into an agreement with SMA to support the maritime educational goals of Singapore and the DNV GL Academy. SMA is Singapore’s primary maritime academic institution, and the opportunities for collaboration between the DNV GL Academy and SMA will certainly be of mutual benefit”, said Steen Lund.
“Partnering with a leading classification society like DNV GL is an advantage for our Singapore maritime industry. We will be able to tap on the expertise of the Academy and students from our institute can also acquire practical experience through internship in DNV GL,” said Roland Tan.
