Ofiniti acquires Teqplay to bring operational intelligence to global bunkering
Ofiniti, a DNV Ventures portfolio company, has acquired Rotterdam‑based Teqplay, a provider of AIS‑driven port‑call and vessel‑movement intelligence. The acquisition expands Ofiniti’s operational insight capabilities and broadens its customer base across Europe, Asia, and the US Gulf Coast.
Since spinning out of DNV in 2024, Ofiniti has continued to scale its operations. In 2025, the company processed more than 25 000 bunker operations, including 500 000 metric tonnes of alternative fuels, with volumes projected to increase significantly in 2026. Ofiniti now holds an estimated 40% share of Singapore’s digital bunkering market, the largest such market globally.
Building on this growth, the acquisition of Teqplay introduces a complementary layer of real‑time port‑call and vessel‑movement intelligence to Ofiniti’s platform.
Ofiniti has executed against an ambitious plan since spinning out of DNV in 2024. The acquisition of Teqplay is the natural next step: it broadens the platform from execution and documentation into the operational decision-support our customers increasingly expect. Combined with Ofiniti’s leadership in Singapore and growing presence in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, the addition of a US Gulf Coast customer base meaningfully strengthens the company’s claim as the global maritime operations platform, says Kaare Helle, Venture Director, DNV Ventures.
Founded in Rotterdam in 2015 by Léon Gommans and Richard van Klaveren, Teqplay operates a maritime digital twin built on real-time AIS, weather, and port data, tracking vessel and cargo movements across 490 ports in 90 countries. Its Port Reporter tool provides accurate, independent timestamps of every vessel movement through a port, and is used by port authorities, terminals, and shipping lines to benchmark performance and reduce waste. Integrated into Ofiniti, this layer adds real-time visibility, port-call analytics, and benchmarking to every fuel delivery the platform records.
In an increasingly complex maritime environment, our customers require real-time updates on what’s happening, so they anticipate what’s around the corner, and act accordingly. By bringing Teqplay’s intelligence into the platform, we are able to offer bunker suppliers, traders, and port authorities a shared, real-time view of operations as they unfold. This is a significant step towards addressing the fragmentation we see in the bunkering ecosystem and will help improve continuous alignment, says Tue Nielsen, CEO, Ofiniti.
