Encryption & PKI Practitioner
This encryption course provides a practical introduction to cryptography, digital signatures, and certificates, focusing on how to apply these concepts in real-world IT environments.
Without delving too deep into complex mathematics, you will learn where, when and how to use different encryption techniques and how Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) works, both technically and organisationally.
Through hands-on exercises, you will gain practical experience with cryptographic processes, certificate management, and secure communication protocols like TLS.
Exam and Certification:
This course does not include an exam. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Delivery methods:
- Tutored online/ virtual training
- Classroom training
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the core principles and applications of cryptography;
- Understand how PKI works and the roles of Certificate Authorities (CA) and Registration Authorities (RA);
- Apply encryption, hashing, and digital signatures in practice;
- Gain insights into secure protocols such as TLS, SSH, and IPSec;
- Prepare for future cryptographic developments, including quantum-safe cryptography.
Pre-requisites
Basic knowledge of IT security (equivalent to S-ITSF) is recommended.
