The course ASC Social Auditing - Internal Auditor Training aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to perform social audits in compliance with ASC standards.
Social responsibility means that an organization takes responsibility for the decisions and activities that affect its employees, society, and the environment, through transparent and ethical behaviour. This contributes to the management of OSH work in the enterprise, sustainable development, and follow-up of stakeholder expectations.
The ASC Salmon Standard contains several principles that are relevant to social audits. Principle 6 focuses on developing and operating fish farms in a socially responsible manner, while Principle 7 is about being a good neighbour and conscientious citizen. Section 8 sets out requirements for suppliers of smolt.
