LNG hazard awareness training

A one-day LNG hazard awareness training at the Spadeadam Research and Testing, Cumbria, UK

Course objective and scope

This 1-day course offers delegates the opportunity to gain experience and develop their understanding of the hazards associated with LNG. Through this unique course delegates will experience live demonstrations and be able to see and feel the effects of LNG releases. The course combines these live demonstrations with classroom sessions delivered by expert engineers to provide a complete learning experience.

Course content

The course presentations will cover the following topics:

  • Hazards associated with LNG
  • Dense phase gas dispersion
  • LNG transportation by land and sea, including ship to shore transfer
  • Rapid Phase Transition (RPT)
  • LNG jet and pool fire characteristics
  • Introduction to BLEVE’s.
The course will include the following live demonstrations:
  • Dense phase gas dispersion
  • RPT
  • LNG jet fire
  • LNG pool fire.

Who should attend?

The course is suitable for all those involved in the production or handling of LNG.

Due to the secure location of the Spadeadam Research and Testing, all visitors must have photographic ID and non-British nationals must send passport details four weeks in advance of the course.

Fees

The course fee is GBP 1,100 + VAT (10% discount if 3 or more delegates attend from the same company).  Payment should be received by cheque made payable to GL Industrial Services UK Ltd or company order 4 weeks prior to the start of the course. Registration is not possible without payment.  If there are insufficient attendees or for any other reason we cannot continue with this course you will be notified 4 weeks prior to the course date. 

Accommodation and transport are not included in the course fees.

Charges for late cancellation

No charge will be made if written cancellation is received by us at least 28 days before the event. If written cancellation is received less than 28 days prior to the event, 100% of the fee is payable.
