ISO 50100 in practice: "Systematic planning, evaluation and implementation of decarbonisation – based on ISO 50001"
This one-day intensive training course focuses on the practical application of ISO 50100 for reducing energy-related greenhouse gas emissions (ERGE) in organisations.
The ISO 50100 standard describes requirements and guidelines for systematically reducing energy-related GHG emissions and establishing a decarbonisation plan. It builds on existing energy management processes according to ISO 50001 and integrates them into a comprehensive ERGE reduction process, including goal setting, action planning, monitoring and reporting.
ISO 50001, in turn, lays the foundation for an energy management system (EnMS) that ensures the continuous improvement of energy efficiency, energy consumption and energy use. This systematic approach provides the data and structures that ISO 50100 uses for decarbonisation.
The training combines short technical inputs with practical workshop elements and group work. Participants will learn how ISO 50100 and ISO 50001 work together optimally to establish a sound, data-based decarbonisation path and implement it strategically.
Objectives:
After the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand and classify the requirements and structure of ISO 50100
- Utilise the interaction between ISO 50001 processes and ISO 50100 decarbonisation pathways
- Develop a decarbonisation plan, including scope definition, base year, targets and measures
- Correctly use energy data and EnMS data for ERGE quantifications (Scope 1, Scope 2, optional Scope 3)
- Prepare ERGE reports and validation/verification claims in accordance with ISO 50100
Audience:
The training is aimed at:
- Energy officers & energy managers (EnMS managers)
- Energy and energy management system auditors
- Sustainability, environment and climate managers
- Managers in the areas of operations, technology, production or ESG
- Project managers for decarbonisation, transformation and energy efficiency
- Business developers or strategy managers
Companies of all sizes and in all industries can benefit, as ISO 50100 and ISO 50001 are applicable to all organisations – regardless of type, size or location.
