An Approach to Product Safety Culture Training

This one-day course provides senior management and technical teams with a structured approach to understanding, measuring, and improving product safety culture, supporting effective leadership and continuous improvement.

An Approach to Product Safety Culture is an industry-focused course which encompasses organisational culture, leadership and behavioural concepts. It also covers all BRCGS Global Standards, in addition to the global market for application to any manufacturing facility regardless of business size or whether the sites have a product scope of food or non-food related goods/services. To complete the course successfully, participants will need to complete a workplace assignment with a pass mark of 75%. 

Participants will gain an understanding of how to link behaviours and decision making to product safety, how to measure product safety culture, and how to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. The training also supports the development of a product safety culture improvement plan, enabling organizations to embed positive behaviours, strengthen leadership commitment, and support long term compliance with BRCGS expectations.

Objectives:

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the concept of Product Safety Culture and why a positive culture is important to ensuring product safety and integrity;
  • Identify what the standards require, and the function of Product Safety Culture Plan within a QMS;
  • Recognise the link between behaviour, Product Safety Culture and how it underpins product safety assurance;
  • Discuss how to measure an organisation’s Product Safety Culture through the use of tools and techniques;
  • Develop a sustainable Product Safety Culture action plan and how to engage staff to support it.
