Under this agreement, DNV will issue a “Material Type Approval” to POSCO Steel to certify the performance and quality of its “Greenable” products. The approval of the “Greenable” steel type will be the first of its kind, and the two companies have agreed to continue working together.

DNV’s Executive Vice President Kim Sandgaard-Mørk said, "DNV has global experience in technical standards and certification schemes. With the Type Approval of POSCO's Greenable steel, we will contribute to ensuring high-quality products for the green energy industry in the future."

Eul Son Park, Director of Energy and Shipbuilding and Marketing at POSCO, said, "Eco-friendly energy is a social flow that companies cannot offend. At a time when the world is transitioning to a renewable energy regime, we look forward to this collaboration accelerating the transition to a carbon-neutral society and enabling both companies to further develop into industry-leading companies."

In the recent years, the renewable energy industry has seen an increasing need for economic design to reduce the Levelised Cost of Energy (LCoE). As a result, POSCO launched the integrated brand “Greenable” in October last year and is providing low-carbon, eco-friendly, high-performance steel products and solutions that meet market demands.
