DNV-classed hybrid cargo vessels delivered in Colombo

Two eco-friendly general cargo vessels classed by DNV have been delivered by Colombo Dockyard.

Owned by Misje Rederi, the 5,000 dwt newbuild vessels were part of a six-vessel order by the Norwegian shipowner, with an option for four additional vessels. The cargo vessels, Misje Flora and Misje Rose, have been designed to be converted to full zero-emissions operation as the technology develops.

Commenting on this occasion, Uday Ganivada, Country Manager for India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh, Maritime at DNV said, “We are grateful for the strong collaboration and close coordination between our local teams and the owner representatives that has led to these successful deliveries. These innovative newbuilds built to DNV class notations is a testament to our dedication at advancing sustainable shipping solutions and shaping the future of maritime transportation.”
