Our software packages

We’ve created three packages to do Life Extension work of bottom-fixed installations. They are the ‘Jacket collapse package’, ‘Jacket reserve strength package’ and ‘Jacket life extension package’ based on what our existing customers use, making it easier to decide what’s right for you.

A vital part of life extension is to assess the structure and its loadings as is and to update the corresponding structural analysis models. Sesam allows for easy update of the analysis model for scenarios when there is an old data model or a new model. In both cases, the new digital twin model will be fit for use by a modern analysis tool allowing for more advanced methodologies to prove compliance with international design codes, fatigue life and reserve strength ratios.

A key in life extension work is to keep track of the version changes and to share the data with key stakeholders. Sesam Insight is made for this as it allows for version handling of data and results and easy sharing of the data to ensure all stakeholders understand changes over time and have access to as-is data. The single data concept model as provided by Sesam is ideal in such sense, as it allows for changes of structure, properties, loads and environment over time.

Jacket collapse package

The Jacket collapse package includes non-linear analysis and modelling (or importing data) of a complete structure for use in non-linear analysis. If you are analysing a jacket, the wave/wind loads and pile/soil data needs to be edited in a separate input file. For a topside analysis this is normally not needed. 

  • The Jacket collapse package will let you do collapse analysis and boat impact analysis when the model exists in GeniE and the execution of the non-linear analysis is done from the GeniE user interface
  • Other types of non-linear analysis like eigenvalue, dynamic analysis, time domain earthquake analysis and dropped object analysis can also be done but requires minimum editing of the Usfos input file
  • The model and loads can be made in GeniE or imported into GeniE from other analysis tools and CAD systems
  • In case you want to include wave and pile data, these need to be edited on the Usfos input file. In case you want to avoid editing of such data you should consider upgrading to the Jacket reserve strength package
  • The model and selected result attributes from non-linear analysis can be shared with stakeholders using Sesam Insight (a web-based collaboration tool)
  • This package contains GeniE for modelling, Usfos for non-linear analysis and Sesam Insight

Jacket reserve strength package

The Jacket reserve strength package is more complete as it also supports ULS and non-linear analysis of a complete jacket including environmental loads and data for pile and soil. This means that a linear model can be used as is in a non-linear analysis such as collapse and boat-impact. When importing a model from other sources, code checking can be performed to document that the model behave similarly.

  • This package allows you to do collapse analysis and boat impact analysis without editing of input files by re-using the model and load definitions in GeniE and executing the non-linear analysis from the GeniE user interface
  • That means the GeniE model and loads are re-used as is and the only user interaction would be to define the needed information to do a non-linear analysis from the GeniE user interface. 
  • Other types of non-linear analysis like eigenvalue, dynamic analysis, time domain earthquake analysis and dropped object analysis can also be done but requires minimum editing of the Usfos input file
  • You can also do member code checking based on linear structural analysis
  • The model and loads can be made in GeniE or imported into GeniE from other analysis tools, CAD systems and soil data definitions
  • The model and selected result attributes from non-linear analysis can be shared with stakeholders using Sesam Insight (a web-based collaboration tool)
  • This package contains GeniE for modelling, GeniE extension CCBM for beam code checking, Wajac for wave load analysis, Splice for pile/soil analysis, Sestra for linear structural analysis, Usfos for non-linear analysis and Sesam Insight
  • If you want to include member and plate fatigue you should consider upgrading to the Jacket Life Extension package

Jacket life extension package

The Jacket life extension package builds on the jacket collapse package. It also includes fatigue analysis of beams and shells. The Jacket life extension package is thus a complete package that can be used to prove life extension based on code checking, fatigue and/or pushover analysis.

  • This package allows you to do collapse analysis and boat impact analysis without editing of input files by re-using the model and load definitions in GeniE and executing the non-linear analysis from the GeniE user interface
  • That means the GeniE model and loads are re-used as is and the only user interaction would be to define the needed information to do a non-linear analysis from the GeniE user interface.
