Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) certification services
Ensure that your aluminium operations meet global sustainability standards and demonstrate responsible production and sourcing across the entire value chain.
Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) certification services
Certification to the ASI Performance Standard and Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard shows your commitment to ethical, environmental, and socially responsible aluminium production from mine to end user. These certifications help organizations manage sustainability risks, build trust, and meet increasing market expectations for responsible aluminium.
The ASI Standards provide specific requirements to ensure and demonstrate that your organization is acting responsibly in the production and transformation of aluminium
What is ASI?
Applicable to all organizations in the global aluminium value chain, the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) is a worldwide sustainability certification scheme. The Performance Standard outlines requirements for responsible production, governance, environmental stewardship, and social impacts. The Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard enables traceability of ASI certified material, supporting responsible sourcing claims and transparency.
ASI certification helps organizations achieve
- Responsible mining, refining, smelting, and fabrication practices
- Increased stakeholder trust and brand reputation
- Better risk management and supply chain transparency
- Alignment with global sustainability expectations
- Traceable, credible claims about responsible aluminium sourcing
- Structured improvements across social, environmental, and governance performance
DNV, as an ASI approved Conformity Assessment Body (CAB), performs assessments across the full value chain from bauxite extraction to end use manufacturing for both:
- ASI Performance Standard
- Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard
