Certification to BRCGS Agents and Brokers demonstrates your commitment to operational quality and safety, helps you ensure legal compliance and protect consumers everywhere.

What is the standard

The BRCGS Agents and Brokers Global Standard provides a framework to manage product safety, authenticity, quality and legality. It is applicable to businesses that buy, sell or facilitate the trade of products in the food, packaging and consumer product industries, but who do not manufacture, process or store the products in their own facilities or on their own sites.

Agents and brokers play an essential role in the movement and trade of products. They are a critical link in the total value chain. With the ability to influence their suppliers’ product safety and quality standards, they are responsible for maintaining an effective traceability chain. Where the activities include import, there are often specific legal obligations that apply to the products as well as requirements on records maintenance. These may later be requested by authorities or customers.

It is fully recognised as GFSI standard.
