26th DNV Nordic Maritime Universities Workshop 2026

29–30 January 2026 at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø, Norway

Welcome to the 2th Nordic Maritime Universities Workshop 2026, which will be hosted by UiT – The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø, Norway, on 29–30 January 2026. The workshop will cover a variety of topics related to naval architecture, marine engineering, and maritime transport, serving as a platform for researchers to present their work, exchange ideas, and explore emerging topics and methodologies. Contributions may address, among other areas, hydrodynamic and structural design methods, safety and reliability assessment, energy efficiency, low-carbon propulsion, as well as data-driven, digital, and cyber-physical technologies throughout the maritime sector.

The workshop is presentation-only, with the possibility of a subsequent paper submission opportunity. We welcome presentations on relevant research topics. Preferred presentation categories include:

  1. Advanced research: presentations where PhD students or senior researchers present results from completed or ongoing projects – 15 minutes, including Q&A
  2. Early-stage research: presentations where MSc and early PhD students describe their research project, their motivation, topic background, and intended results – 15 minutes​, including Q&A

There is no registration fee for the workshop. All researchers from Nordic maritime universities are welcome to present their work and engage in dialogue with industry stakeholders and fellow academics across the region. Abstracts should be submitted by 1 November 2025 via the link below.
