The objective of this recommended practice (RP) is to provide a practical and cost-effective risk-based methodology for the management of corrosion under insulation (CUI).

This RP addresses the threat of CUI in process plants. It describes how to assess the probability of failure (PoF) due to CUI, and how the PoF can be affected by the different mitigation measures available or implemented.
