The requirements of SOLAS Regulation II-3/3-13 will vary depending on the criteria below (see Figure1):
First criterion:

Anchor handling equipment which meets the first or second criterion must comply with the following requirements of SOLAS Regulation II-1/3-13:
A) Design, construction, installation (as per requirements of the vessel’s RO)
B) Thorough examination and test (as per MSC.1/Circ.1662)
C) Maintenance, operation, inspection and testing (as per MSC.1/Circ.1662)
Third criterion:

latest at first Renewal Survey of the ship after 1 January 2026 |
Anchor handling equipment which meets the third criterion must comply with the following requirements of SOLAS Regulation II-1/3-13:
B) Thorough examination and test (as per MSC.1/Circ.1662)
C) Maintenance, operation, inspection and testing (as per MSC.1/Circ.1662)
