IWSA Wind Propulsion Conference

Join global maritime experts in London to explore wind propulsion innovation and sustainable shipping solutions.

The Wind Propulsion 2026 Conference will be held on 17–18 February 2026 at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Headquarters in London. The event is hosted by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) in collaboration with the International Windship Association (IWSA).

Now in its latest edition, this two-day conference continues to be a leading platform for advancing wind-assisted and wind-powered technologies in the maritime sector. Drawing on one of the oldest principles in shipping, wind propulsion is fast becoming a practical, scalable route to decarbonization.

Delegates will gain up-to-date insights into technology, design, policy, and performance, while engaging directly with industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers driving sustainable shipping. Building on the success of the 2024 conference, which gathered over 150 experts, the 2026 event promises even broader participation from across the global maritime community.

DNV has been a consistent contributor to the Wind Propulsion series, sharing expertise in innovation, safety, and digital verification for wind-assisted systems. At the 2026 edition, DNV will continue supporting discussions that shape the next generation of clean, efficient propulsion solutions.
