CBAM definitive period: What EU customers expect from non‑EU operators
Benefit from DNV’s hands‑on experience supporting non‑EU producers across CBAM‑covered sectors

The EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is advancing from a transitional period to a fully operational financial mechanism, fundamentally changing how emissions data from non‑EU installations is monitored, calculated, and verified. From 2027, verified emissions data will directly influence the carbon cost borne by EU importers, making non‑EU producers a critical part of CBAM compliance and cost optimization.
This webinar provides a practical overview of how CBAM affects non‑EU installations supplying CBAM‑covered goods to the EU. It will cover the key regulatory requirements for determining actual embedded emissions, the CBAM calculation methodology, data collection and monitoring expectations, and the upcoming third‑party verification obligations. Drawing on DNV’s experience supporting both EU importers and non‑EU producers during the transitional period, the session will highlight common challenges observed in practice and practical approaches to address them.
Participants will gain clarity on what is expected from non‑EU installations, key preparation milestones ahead of verification requirements, and how early action on emissions data quality can support customers, reduce reliance on default values, and strengthen commercial positioning in the EU market.
