While optimizing for best performance on the agreed operational profile (speed-draft-cases), boundary conditions such as hardpoints at the bow or cavitation criteria at the propeller are considered. Experience in numbers
DNV has already provided retrofits for about 1,000 individual vessels, which corresponds to 25% of all qualified (in terms of age and size) container vessel designs of the world fleet. Besides container vessels, RoRo and RoPax vessels have become increasingly important.
In addition, numerous PBCFs and propeller retrofits have been optimized for various ship types to improve vessel efficiency. In combination with the bulbous bow optimization, many synergies can be utilized in this respect.
