Industrial interoperability summit 2026

Turning semantic interoperability into industrial competitiveness in an AI-driven world

Join this three-day event at DNV Høvik, just outside Oslo, June 9-11. Experience presentations, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities to explore where industries are headed and how to maximize the value of semantic interoperability.

Maximize industrial competitiveness

Siloed, noninteroperable data slows productivity across industries. In today’s AI-driven world, seamless data interoperability is essential for innovation and smarter operations.

The last couple of years significant breakthrough has been achieved toward real meaningful interoperability when semantic technologies have been applied in industries and industrial ecosystems.

Whether you are shaping data strategies, building solutions, or transforming operations, this is the forum to connect with peers. Ideal for leaders, technologists, developers, and decision-makers working with digitalization, data management, and production networks.

By attending, participants will:

  • Learn from leaders and experts from industry and academia
  • Gain deeper insights into the frontier of digital standards for interoperability
  • Engage in hands-on workshops
  • Connect with peers, experts and key industry players engaged in semantic interoperability work

One expected outcome is to establish a new Implementor Forum. This is intended to facilitate collaboration among stakeholders involved in the development and implementation of the new ISO 23726 OBI (Ontology based interoperability) standard family where IDO (Industrial data ontology) is a key element.

Agenda

The agenda is developed together with the EU Arrowhead fPVN project. The following provides an overview of the summit. Details of speakers and full agenda will be available shortly. Register you interested today to be notified.

9 June, day 1: Setting the scene: Industrial productivity through semantic interoperability

Expect interesting keynote presentations, and to hear about the fPVN project with a bold ambition of doubling industrial productivity through semantic interoperability mechanisms enabling resilient and adaptive value networks. What are the achievements and directions that we can take away and its broad range of use cases.

Evening event: Kickstart networking with a boat trip on the Oslo Fjord with food and refreshments.

10 June, day 2: Implementor Forum: Community ontologies, resources, tooling and strategy

Gain first-hand insights into the vision and principles of OBI and IDO. Expect keynotes and presentations from leading experts to set the scene, and we shall jointly kick off the Implementor Forum.

11 June, day 3: Workshops: Exploring key topics and setting directions

This day the participants can join different parallel thematic workshops spanning key aspect of semantic interoperability, standardisation, methods, tools and industrial implementations. Expect hands on sessions focused on real-world implementation scenarios, addressing practical challenges and sharing best practices.
