Bankable energy infrastructure projects
Confidence at every stage of the project for you and your stakeholders
Confidence is critical
The surge in electricity demand is creating a firehose of opportunities in the U.S. and Canada. The trick is to find bankable opportunities. Developers who take the time to de-risk projects will be the ones that emerge winners in the decades ahead.

What it takes to build one of the world’s largest solar and storage projects - Gemini solar and storage project
Primergy Solar selected DNV to provide technical advice for their Gemini facility – a solar farm featuring 1.8 million solar panels and a battery system providing 1,400 MWh of storage. Our experts supported Primergy from feasibility through construction, providing independent engineering, design optimization, energy modeling, and risk assessments to ensure technical integrity, bankability, and environmental compliance.
This groundbreaking project sets a blueprint for large-scale renewable deployments, proving that solar-plus-storage can deliver reliable, dispatchable clean energy at utility scale.
North America’s largest hydrogen blending study - DNV embarks on groundbreaking hydrogen blending feasibility study to decarbonize the gas system in British Columbia
Enbridge and FortisBC selected DNV to determine how much hydrogen can be safely blended and transported through existing natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines in British Columbia, Canada. DNV is assessing the full gas value chain—from hydrogen injection to end-user delivery—while accounting for the unique characteristics of each system. The findings will inform future codes and standards, and help establish the safety, technical, and economic requirements needed to introduce hydrogen into gas networks.
A responsible, bankable wind farm - Developing Parc Éolien Apuiat in partnership with the Innu nation
DNV worked with Boralex and the Innu Nation as they developed the Parc éolien Apuiat, a 200 MW wind farm located on traditional lands in Quebec’s Côte-Nord region. We provided comprehensive human rights due diligence covering environmental, social, labor, indigenous stakeholder engagement, and project compliance to the Equator Principles. Our work provided critical assurance to investors and lenders that Apuiat is a responsibly developed, low-risk renewable energy project.
We are proud to work with Boralex and the Innu Nation to demonstrate how energy infrastructure projects can be built in a way that respects human rights, preserves local culture, and provides long-term community prosperity.
Enabling safe and reliable oil and gas operations
LLOG Exploration Company received regulatory approval to continue production from the J. Bellis offshore field, located 155 miles offshore of New Orleans in over 2,600 feet of water. The company needed to verify that the Steel Catenary Riser (SCR) and Umbilical systems installed in 2005 can operate safely beyond their original 20-year design. This included a comprehensive assessment of critical subsea infrastructure to confirm structural integrity and operational capability for extended service.
We served as the independent third-party Certified Verification Agent (CVA), applying nearly seven decades of offshore expertise to support this critical assessment. DNV has a long history of supporting safe offshore oil and gas operations, with nearly 70% of offshore oil and gas pipelines being built to our standards.d addressed project risks. With us at your side, you can preserve stakeholder trust, ensure timelines and profitability, and protect your license to operate.
