New Director of the Middle East, India and North Africa Division
DNV GL Oil & Gas has appointed Moss Daemi as the Director of its Middle East, India and North Africa Division. “We established our presence in the MENA region over 40 years ago and will continue to support the oil and gas industry here to make it safer and more reliable and at the same time to enhance its performance,” says Mr Pekka Paasivaara, CEO of DNV GL Oil & Gas.
The Middle East, India and North Africa region, which accounts for over half the world’s proven oil reserves and more than one third of the world’s gas reserves, has energy high on its agenda and carries a great vision for its overall social and economic development. Nevertheless, this does not come without challenges and the region’s oil and gas industry is facing an increasingly complex geography, high reservoir temperature and pressure, sour gas and unconventional gas.
Mr Daemi says, “As a leading technical advisor to the global oil and gas industry, DNV GL Oil & Gas recognises the key challenges facing the industry in the Middle East, India and North Africa. Our division’s strategy is to utilise our innovation capabilities in addition to our regional and global technical expertise to help our customers overcome these issues during the planning stages and in the development and operation of their assets.”
Prior to his current position, Mr Daemi was appointed Executive Vice President for GL Noble Denton's operations in the Middle East and Africa in 2012. Before that, he spent six years as an oil & gas consultant in Australia and South East Asia, helping energy companies to develop their operations. Most of his career has been spent with BP, where he worked in a variety of roles, such as shareholder representative in the North West Shelf Joint Venture, country manager in the Middle East and project director in the Middle East, Malaysia, the UK, Australia and the Philippines.
He will report to CEO Pekka Paasivaara, DNV GL Oil & Gas.
