Introduction to SolarFarmer (virtual course)

Find out just how easy it is to set up a workbook and run a bankable energy calculation with SolarFarmer

Description

A hands-on, practical based, introductory session to guide you through your first energy assessment with SolarFarmer. 

Target group 

Suitable for people with a grounding in PV plant design and energy assessment but who are new to SolarFarmer. The aim is to equip participants with the hands-on experience required to use the latest SolarFarmer software for ground mount yield assessment and evaluation of PV design choices. 

Format

The course is run over 2 x 3hr sessions with a combination of teacher led sessions via video conference and walkthrough software exercises using a fictitious single-axis tracker demo project on undulating terrain in Nevada, US. 

Attendees will receive a fully functional SolarFarmer licence a few days before the training. Please try to install the software before the training starts. 

What attendees will learn

  • Understand the role of SolarFarmer in the PV project development workflow
  • Work with a range of data sources for irradiance, site conditions, GIS, CAD & PV component sources 
  • Explore tools for evaluating different project layouts and technology choices. 
  • Use SolarFarmer’s validated energy calculation to estimate the project yield
