The course is aimed to introduce a workflow for a side-by-side analysis in Sesam system

Description

The course aims to introduce a workflow for a side-by-side analysis of a FPSO and a tanker in Sesam system. The course focuses on hydrodynamic analysis and time domain analysis.

The hydrodynamic analysis is done in Sesam HydroD for single body analysis and multi-body analysis. An internal lid will be introduced to remove the irregular frequencies. In the multi-body hydrodynamic analysis, a damping sheet will be used to reduce the gap resonant between the two vessels.

The coupling time domain analysis is executed in Sesam Sima for the side-by-side system. The hydrodynamic coupling effects will be considered in the analysis. Various flexible force models will be used to calculate the forces of the mooring system.

HydroD and Sima are the main tools, supported by Wadam, HydroMesh, Postresp, Simo and Riflex

Learning scope

The following topics will be covered:

  • Calculate multi-body hydrodynamics in HydroD with internal lid and damping sheet
  • Run a multi-body coupling analysis in Sima, considering the effects of coupling hydrodynamics and coupling structures

It is required that the participants have completed the Sesam courses SE-04 , SE-06 and SE-18, or have similar knowledge in use of GeniE, HydroD and Sima.
