Energy Management System Lead Auditor Training Course as per ISO 50001

A full week course designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second- and third-party audits of energy management systems – ISO 50001:2018 audits.

ISO 50001 is the internationally recognized standard for energy management systems which applies to any size organization and any form of energy. It was revised in 2018, incorporating several changes over the previous 2011 versions. 

For successful completion of this course, it is expected that you have prior knowledge of the following management principles and concepts:

  • The PDCA cycle 
  • Energy management system
  • Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 50001 and the commonly used energy management system terms and definitions, as given in ISO 50001, which may be gained by completing a Foundation energy training course in ISO 50001:2018.

As well as gaining knowledge of auditing, attendees will benefit from access to course material augmented with exclusive insights from big data analytics based on our database of millions of audit findings worldwide. Also, attendees will gain free access to our online self-assessment tool where you can quickly implement and practice learnings as well as to measure your company performance against specific management system standards.

Objective

The course is intended to impart all the knowledge and skills required by lead auditors in energy management systems – ISO 50001:2018.

At the end of the course, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the purpose of an energy management system, of energy management systems standard- ISO 50001, of management system audit and of third-party certification.
  • Explain the role of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up energy management system audit.
  • Plan, conduct, report and follow up an audit of an energy management system to establish conformance (or otherwise) with ISO 50001 and in accordance with ISO 19011 (and ISO 17021 where appropriate).

The course is targeted at any professional in the energy industry with basic understanding of the requirements in ISO 50001:2018, seeking process-based auditing skills and knowledge required to audit energy management systems.
