Yacht LMS

Since its launch more than 20 years ago, Maritime Academy has been driven by its purpose to support the global maritime industry and improve the business performance of its customers. Maritime Academy is DNV’s dedicated maritime training service, sharing the technical expertise available within the company, to build trust and competence, while providing the best solutions to help customers in their daily business.

In addition to supporting the Maritime Industry at large, Maritime Academy has in the past years also been involved in providing bespoke courses for yacht industry personnel, whose training needs are not so different to those of other ship segments. In most cases this concerns international maritime regulations, such as ISM, ISPS, MLC and STCW, which are equally applicable to commercial yachts.

With a global network of academies based in key maritime locations around the world and one of the broadest training portfolios in the market, Maritime Academy can fully support the yacht industry today, working with you to improve the competencies of your personnel with the help of well qualified trainers having years of experience in this specific maritime segment.

In addition to the regular courses currently available in our standard training portfolio (SOLAS, DPA, PSC, CSO, Incident Investigation) and addressed to a general maritime industry audience, Maritime Academy is now actively offering on-line sessions of courses expressly designed to meet yacht industry training needs on the following dates:

  • 24.-26. Mar. 2021: Internal Auditor ISM-ISPS-MLC for Yachts and Superyachts
  • 01.-02. Apr. 2021: Introduction to the System of Maritime Regulations for Yachts and Superyachts
  • 08.-09. Apr. 2021: Cyber Security in the Superyacht Industry
  • 22.-23. Apr. 2021: Understanding STCW for Yachts and Superyachts
  • 06.-07. May 2021: Understanding ISM for Yachts and Superyachts

In-house training sessions of the above courses can also be organized for groups of people from the same company upon request. In such cases additional customization of course content is also possible in order to meet specific training needs.
