DNV arranges Hydrogen Safety Awareness field trip to testing facility in UK

On 29 - 30 November 2022, DNV arranges a special one and half day seminar at DNV’s Research and Development centre in Cumbria, England.

A broad delegation of more than 30 representatives and stakeholders from the Danish hydrogen and Power-to-X community will join the fieldtrip.

The overall objective of the trip is to raise safety awareness and stimulate safety discussions in the industry. Denmark’s increasing GW portfolio of projects and the move from distant industry zones to urban areas makes the “scale up safe” agenda even more important.

The emphasis of the seminar will be on the first-hand experience gained from being able to see and feel the effects of hydrogen releases and explosions in different accident scenarios. This will be supported by classroom lectures, presentations, videos, case studies and group discussions designed to provide an overview of hydrogen major accident hazards and how awareness can lead to inherently safer solutions.

For over 40 years, Spadeadam has conducted full scale testing to assess the consequences of major hazards and their effects on people and properties. The results of which have been used to develop safety standards and products and to protect people and infrastructure from both accidental and deliberate threats.
