A large advisory firm needed a green energy procurement strategy. To produce a comprehensive strategy, the client was looking for:
- Availability and feasibility of different procurement mechanisms including EACs (Energy Attribute Certificates), green energy retail options, Corporate PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) and on-site feasibility.
- Ease of transaction, scalability, volume range, flexibility (tenor, change of facility), risk potential and investment costs.
Our solution
DNV evaluated the available renewable energy options and created a green energy roadmap for the deployment supported by a communications plan including internal stakeholder engagement.
The result was a comprehensive strategy and implementation globally.
Impact
DNV undertook a workshop to answer questions and finalize the client’s internal parameters and preferences against the pre-established list of key factors presented by DNV. This helped the client understand and provided a fresh outlook on essential parameters used in green energy procurement. Several reports were produced, including a report based on the best fit geography for the company’s profile, and implementation for renewable energy procurement in the selected region.
