Plant integrity management
Plant integrity management consists of both ad hoc and planned maintenance activities. Planned maintenance is usually defined using a time-based approach. This approach typically assumes that equipment items have the same level of associated risk. Furthermore, research has shown that some equipment items follow a different reliability pattern and performing planned maintenance work on these items might increase the probability of failure.
To overcome these challenges, a new way to manage planned maintenance activities has been developed, the condition-based approach. The condition-based approach utilizes risk management techniques to correctly prioritize planned maintenance activities that will focus on reducing both business interruptions and the risk to people and environment.
Synergi Plant includes powerful risk management methods such as:
- Risk Based Inspection (RBI) for tanks, vessels, pipes, heat exchangers and structures
- Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) for rotating equipment such as turbines, motors and compressors
- Safety Integrity Level (SIL) for reducing risk associated with a specific hazard
