Business Assurance - Viewpoint

How are companies transitioning towards the circular economy?

Methodology

The survey was conducted in March-April 2021 using the CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing) methodology. It involved 793 customers of Business Assurance in DNV across different industries in Europe, North America, Central & South America and Asia.

The sample does not claim to be statistically representative of companies worldwide. For further information, please see the full study.

A total of 96 companies in the sample were identified as LEADERS based on a list of attributes defined by the project team.

  • Companies with at least one circular economy business model adopted or in the process of being adopting
  • Companies that currently see themselves as leading within circular economy or the topic has already been analysed and/or discussed within their organisation

LEADERS represent 12.1 % of the total respondents; the analysis of their answers offers insights into the best practices and mindset of the companies with more mature approaches to circular economy.
