Engaging for impact in India

There is no doubt that the landscape of Indian maritime is changing, and fast. The sheer number of industry events in the first half of 2024 is proof of that.

The drive to decarbonize and innovate was tangible from the many impactful events that our local DNV Maritime team took part in.

We were proud sponsors of two industry events in February, the INA's Smart- Green Maritime: INAvation 2024 conclave and the Informal Tanker Operators’ Safety Forum (ITOSF). DNV’s Head of Maritime Safety Advisory Øystein Goksøyr highlighted the importance of digital transformation in the maritime industry during his presentation and shared with the audiences how smart applications can enhance fuel safety and the role of emerging technologies in being an enabler to decarbonization.

At Marine Money India 2024, our local Head of Maritime Advisory Ajay Singh led a lively panel discussion with prominent shipping executives from Great Eastern Shipping, Precious Shipping, Seven Island Shipping and others. The panelists exchanged views on market challenges and opportunities and delved into how the maritime sector can access capital and enhance their marketing.

DNV’s local experts were also invited to share their insights on the integration of AI in ESG and biofuels, as well as green technologies and alternative future at the Global Maritime Seminar (Glomars 2024), Green Shipping & Ports Conclave 2024 and the Wilhelmsen Officers Conference 2024.

More recently, DNV organized a Technical Committee Meeting in Mumbai with key customers and shipping executives in attendance. The meeting touched on the latest developments from DNV, decarbonization technologies and new class notations.

DNV’s active involvement in these events underscores our commitment to advancing environmental stewardship and innovation in India’s maritime industry, supporting our customers with their decarbonization and digitalization efforts towards Maritime India Vision 2030
