What the EU Cyber Resilience Act means for manufacturers
Whitepaper outlining a seven-step approach to compliance preparedness
Manufacturing
The EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) introduces new cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements placed on the European market. Since September 2026, manufacturers must meet the Act’s requirements for reporting cyber vulnerabilities and severe incidents. Significant effort is also needed in a compressed timetable to prepare for the CRA’s full applicability on 11 December 2027.
Manufacturers in the early stages of preparedness need to translate dense legal requirements into practical decisions and operational workflows. This requires leaders across product security, product compliance, product ownership, R&D, and quality and compliance to clarify which products and complex systems are within the Act’s scope, conduct third-party component due diligence across the supply chain, and integrate cybersecurity throughout the entire product lifecycle.
DNV Cyber’s whitepaper, “What the EU Cyber Resilience Act means for manufacturers”, offers a practical, structured roadmap designed specifically to help such manufacturers navigate compliance preparedness efficiently. It converts regulatory requirements into an actionable seven-step framework, explaining what organizations should address now, what needs to be in place by December 2027 and how a strategic approach to compliance preparedness can support competitive advantage.
