As cyber threats grow more frequent, sophisticated, and geopolitically charged, DNV Cyber’s new research reveals a fundamental weakness at the heart of Denmark’s digital resilience: unclear ownership of cybersecurity.
While the threat to society is widely recognised, executives in critical infrastructure often view national cyber resilience as someone else’s responsibility, and many citizens do not understand their role in protecting society from cyberattacks. This raises important questions about accountability, preparedness, and decision making across sectors.
The research draws on a survey of 200 critical infrastructure executives and 500members of the Danish public, as well interviews with Danish Industry (Dansk Industri), Ørsted, the Danish Health Data Authority (Sundhedsdatastyrelsen), AL Sydbank A/S, Green Power Denmark, and DNV Cyber.
