Swedish businesses and society rely on critical infrastructure that is deeply interconnected – from energy and manufacturing to transport, finance, healthcare and communications. When one part of this system is disrupted, the ripple effects can impact us all.
This is why DNV Cyber conducted research to answer the question: How resilient is Sweden against escalating cyber threats?

The report How Cyber Resilient is Sweden? explores threats to Sweden’s critical infrastructure, assesses national preparedness to manage cyber risk, and offers eight recommendations for businesses and government to strengthen cyber resilience.
The research draws on a survey of 200 critical infrastructure executives and 500 members of the Swedish public, as well interviews with The Swedish Cyber Command, Energi-CERT Sweden, Telia, SKF Automotive, Howden, the Swedish e-Health Agency, Axfood, and DNV Cyber.
Cyber attacks are having a major impact on the way businesses and individuals in Sweden think and operate, according to the research.
- A third of executives working in critical infrastructure industires expect widespread disruption to supply chains and public services in 2026.
- One in five Swedish citizens say their everyday life has been affected by cyber incidents, while 60% expect a society-disrupting cyber incident in the coming years.
“Cyber resilience depends on how well businesses, the public, and authorities each understand and fulfil their role in an interconnected system. We must all take more responsibility to protect Sweden’s critical infrastructure.”
