How cyber resilient is Norway?
Strengthening the resilience of Norway’s critical infrastructure and society
Norwegian businesses and society rely on critical infrastructure that is deeply interconnected – from energy and manufacturing to transport, finance, healthcare and communications. When one part of this system is disrupted, the ripple effects can impact us all.
This is why DNV Cyber conducted research to answer the question: How resilient is Norway against escalating cyber threats?
The report How Cyber Resilient is Norway? explores threats to Norway’s critical infrastructure, assesses national preparedness to manage cyber risk, and offers recommendations for businesses and government to strengthen cyber resilience.
The research draws on a survey of 200 senior critical infrastructure executives in Norway and 500 members of the Norwegian public, as well as interviews with the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM), Norwegian Business and Industry Security Council (NSR), Sykehuspartner HF, Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority -Havtil and DNV Cyber.
The report How Cyber Resilient is Norway? provides seven recommendations to strengthen Norway’s cyber resilience:
- Do not mistake past successes for future invulnerability
- Clarify responsibilities within national cyber resilience
- Map supply chain vulnerabilities and sharpen visibility of third parties
- Address the rising threat of more sophisticated cyber attackers
- Engage the public in the country’s resilience
- Collaborate actively and widely to increase overall cyber resilience
- Review how regulation can have the biggest impact on resilience.
