This course focuses on hydrostatic analysis and stability checking of floating structures based on relevant stability rules. The course is based on HydroD. Exercises in hydrostatic analysis of a semi-submersible are included.

Learning scope

The following topics will be covered: 

  • Define and execute Stability analysis and perform stability rule check 
  • Define and execute Strength analysis, MaximumKG analysis and limit surface analysis 
  • Present the results graphically and create report

Prerequisite:

The participants should also have basic knowledge of hydrostatic analysis and key stability parameters. It is beneficial if the participants have knowledge in GeniE modelling, as covered in either of the courses SE-01 Concept based FE modelling and analysis using Sesam – Introductory or SE-04 Concept based FE modelling of shell structures - Advanced.
