Environmental Management System Auditor/Lead Auditor Training Course as per ISO 14001:2026- Blended

A full week course split into 16 hours of eLearning modules followed by three days of classroom sessions. The course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second-and third-party audits of management systems against the requirements of the ISO 14001:2026.

This online/eLearning (Part I) and classroom (Part II) combination (blended course) gives you a unique opportunity to learn the basics of auditing at your own speed online and complete the training at the classroom. The learning outcome of this blended delivery option is the same as that of 5 Days Classroom training.

It is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform ad lead first, second and third-party audits of management systems against the requirements of the ISO 14001:2026. It includes guidance given in the ISO 19011 for first- and second-party audits as well as the requirements of the ISO17021 for third party audits.

Course setup:

This course has been divided into two parts:

Part I - e-Learning Modules which covers:

  • What is a management system?
  • What is an audit and why do we perform them?
  • Risk-based thinking and the process approach
  • ISO 14001:2026 from an auditor’s point of view

This e-Learning part of the course will take you approximately 16 hours to complete, including self-studying activities in the modules and the final test (online). You can stop and restart the modules as many times as you wish, your work will be saved.

On successful completion of part I (70% score), the participant will be eligible to register for part II, 3 days classroom module.

Part II - 3 days classroom modules covering:

  • Feedback on the e-Learning module and the results of the test
  • Planning an audit with group and individual exercises
  • Executing an audit, with preparation and role-play
  • Reporting the results of an audit and presenting this to management in a close-out meeting role-play.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this 5-day training course, you will be able to:

  • Master the key principles and practices of effective EMS audits in line with ISO 14001:2026 and ISO 19011 “Guidelines for auditing management systems”.
  • Understand the skills and knowledge required to perform and lead EMS audits.
  • Gain confidence in planning, performing, reporting, and leading EMS audits to satisfy third-party certification.
  • Explain audit communication with both internal and external stakeholders. 
    Create value-added audit reporting and follow-up audits as a team leader.
  • Gain skills to lead audits to establish conformity as well as achieve organizational goals and enhance overall organizational performance.

Pre-requisites

For successful completion of this course, it is expected that you have prior knowledge of the following management principles and concepts. This knowledge can be self-declared once you have enrolled to any of our lead auditor courses via the private area created for you using our LMS (Learning Management System). There are two attempts at the declaration.

  • The PDCA cycle
  • The relationship between Environmental management and customer satisfaction
  • Harmonised Structure requirements
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the ISO 14001:2026

These prior knowledge requirements can be easily gained by attending our Foundation course in ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
