“In Continental Europe, we have been gaining a good momentum in the market and prospects for DNV GL's Oil & Gas services are especially favorable in the Mediterranean, which is emerging as a promising area for the discovery and commercialisation of hydrocarbons,” says Liv Hovem, Director of Division Europe and Southern Africa, DNV GL. “Having our regional head office in Milan will bring us even closer to some of our key central European customers such as ENI and Saipem.”

There are currently 25 people already working in Oil & Gas in Milan, and the ambition is to accelerate growth by placing the regional head office there and to connect the unique expertise of the European offices with 2,500 engineers to DNV GL’s important Southern European markets. Until now, the de facto head office for DNV GL’s Oil & Gas Continental Europe region has been Høvik, Norway.

“Tobias brings extensive industry and management experience to his new role,” says Hovem. “His success in growing the Oil & Gas business in legacy GL's Continental Europe organisation, and his role as Area Manager Germany and Benelux make him well-positioned to lead our growth ambitions in the region.”

Tobias Rosenbaum has held several leadership roles in line and project organisations, with notable international experience from Asia, Eastern Europe, Russia and North America. His professional experience includes 15 years working for capital equipment and technology suppliers and within R&D Management developing and industrialising a 5MW offshore wind technology platform. Tobias joined legacy GL's Oil & Gas organisation in Germany in March 2011, where he successfully led business growth first in Germany and later in Continental Europe.

Rosenbaum holds a Master of Mechanical Engineering degree, and has studied at the Technical University in Darmstadt, Germany, and Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
