Carl Erik Høy-Petersen leads business development initiatives in DNV Maritime Advisory, helping customers navigate complex decisions at the intersection of technology, operations, sustainability and finance. Drawing on extensive experience from both the maritime industry and DNV, he supports customers in developing resilient and future-ready businesses.

Bjørn Berger

Regional business development leader, region North Europe

Bjørn has extensive experience in energy efficiency projects and strategic advisory within the maritime industry. He progressed from Principal Consultant to Head of Department for Performance Advisory, leading a global team of over 90 consultants across Norway, Greece, Singapore, India, and Australia. Since January 2025, he has been working as Business Development Leader, with commercial responsibility for Maritime Advisory’s business in North Europe.

Benjamin Dineshkar

Business development leader, region Middle East and Africa

Benjamin is working towards clients in the Middle East and Africa from Dubai. He has experience from large projects in the offshore and maritime industry and has core competence in strategic projects for governments and major players in the maritime industry.

Chara Georgopoulou

Business development leader, region South-East Europe

Chara has specialized in the mathematical modelling and simulation of marine energy systems, the assessment of environmental-friendly transport measures, renewable systems, emission reduction and carbon capture technologies and lifecycle analysis. She is now responsible for clients in south-east Europe. Located in Piraeus.

Xiao Gang Richard Tao

Business development leader, region America

Richard has extensive experience in technical, commercial and ESG due diligence towards maritime, energy enterprises, and has core competence in  maritime and offshore assets life cycle management, including concept development, construction, operation and decommissioning. He is serving clients across Americas from Miami.

Zhao Xiaodong Will

Regional business development leader, region China

Will brings extensive technical experience and a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary knowledge of ship and offshore newbuilding and operations. He leads the Maritime Advisory China team from the Shanghai office, serving diverse clients including shipyards, designers, owners, manufacturers, government agencies, as well as ports and port ecosystem throughout the Greater China region.

Dr Shahrin Osman

Business development leader, region South-East Asia, Pacific and India

Shahrin has key expertise in digitalization in Shipping and extensive experience in maritime cluster analysis, international benchmarking, and strategic advisory projects for maritime clients and governmental entities. Located in Singapore, serving clients in south-east Asia, Pacific and India.

James Peter Hammond

Regional business development leader, region West Europe

James brings over 22 years of international trade and commercial maritime experience. His core expertise lies in shipping advisory with strengths in Maritime M&A, Shipping Market Analysis, Chartering Strategies, Fleet Economics and Investment Decision support. With a solid understanding of how cargo flows, trade patterns and how energy transitions influence maritime business performance. James comes with a background in Freight Trading across various commodity markets and has commercial responsibility for Maritime Advisory’s business in West Europe.
