Join us for a 1-hour event on 21 May in Warsaw or via live stream.

Date: 21 May, 2026
Time: 09:00 - 10:00 CET
Place: Warsaw or via live stream

As part of our Financing the energy transition series, this upcoming event will explore the potential of biomethane as a key component supporting an affordable, diversified and decarbonized energy system, with special focus on Poland in a European context.

Hosted in Warsaw and available via live stream, the session offers a candid fireside chat with experts who share insights and practical experiences from a financial, legal and technical perspective.

Our fireside chat will feature speakers from PKO Bank Polski, Norton Rose Fulbright, and DNV:

  • Pawel Paraszewski, Transactional Manager Structured Finance, PKO Bank Polski
  • Tomasz Rogalski, Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright (Poland)
  • Karolina Ryszka, Senior Energy Markets and Strategy Consultant, DNV
  • Moderator: Christian Lindeen, Director Due Diligence, DNV

Among renewable gas derivates, biomethane stands out as a sustainable, dispatchable and infrastructure ready fuel with a key position in the energy transition, offering a scalable way to cut emissions today while safeguarding energy security - specifically in hard-to-decarbonize industries. It can be deployed through existing gas grids across power, industry and transport, while also contributing to climate targets under recognized certification schemes.

The production of biomethane is growing and, according to DNV’s latest Energy Transition Outlook, will meet 10% of bioenergy demand in 2060, with the highest shares occurring in Europe (15%) and OECD Pacific (18%).

What makes biomethane attractive to financial institutions and investors today – and what are the key barriers? Why is biomethane particularly important for the Polish economy? What policy and regulatory signals are most critical to realize (or stall) bankable investment?

Join us for a forthright fireside chat where industry experts will share unfiltered insights into the current realities, the challenges ahead, and potential of using biomethane as key component in the transition to a fully decarbonized energy system.
