DNV awards first class notation and AiP for Data Driven Verification of Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems
DNV has awarded vessel owner, TechnipFMC, its first class notation for Data Driven Verification (DDV) of Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems. In addition, Kongsberg Maritime’s Dynamic Positioning Digital Survey (DPDS) has been awarded an Approval in Principle (AiP) under the DDV notation and was the software system used in the data driven verification process for the DP systems that have been tested onboard Deep Star.

DNV further confirms feasibility and maturity of the EastMed pipeline
On 10 June, 2022, DNV issued confirmation of the Feasibility Statement of the Eastern Mediterranean Deepwater Pipeline (EastMed), a 2000 km long onshore and offshore natural gas conduit project meant to connect offshore gas reserves from the Levantine Basin to Greece via Cyprus, and further to southeastern European countries in conjunction with Poseidon and Greece-Bulgaria interconnection (IGB) pipelines.

DNV launches new SEEMP III Generator
DNV is set to launch its SEEMP III Generator – as part of an integrated and easy digital solution to support customers in ensuring their compliance with SEEMP Part III verification. The remaining SEEMP Part III guidelines are expected to be adopted and published on 10 June 2022 with the deadline for having the first SEEMP Part III verified and onboarded by 1 January 2023.

Posidonia 2022: DNV and Pleiades celebrate 100 years in Greece and 100 vessels contracted with Cyber Secure notation
At the Posidonia trade fair today, classification society DNV presented Pleiades Shipping with a certificate recognizing their new vessels as the first delivered to a Greek owner with the Cyber secure vessel notation. The presentation was a fitting milestone as DNV also celebrates 100 years of operation in Greece and topping 100 contracted vessels for the Cyber secure notation.

Posidonia 2022: DNV signs MoUs with SHI and Kongsberg Digital to boost data infrastructure verification and uptake
DNV signed two Memorandum of Understanding Agreements (MOUs) with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and Kongsberg Digital (KD) today. The partners agreed to closely cooperate on improving DNV’s data infrastructure verification as well as further strengthening SHI’s and KD’s respective vessel and system design when it comes to providing efficient and standardised data access for ship owners. The MOUs were signed at the Posidonia trade Fair in Athens - where DNV celebrated 100 years of operation in Greece - by Oh Seong-Il, SHI SEVP, Kim Evanger, VP, Kongsberg Digital, and DNV Maritime CEO, Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen.

Posidonia 2022: HGS, HMD and DNV present results of Green Tankers JIP
In a joint technical seminar held during the Posidonia trade fair, shipyard Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD), ship service company Hyundai Global Service (HGS), and classification society DNV presented the results of a joint industry project (JIP) on eco-friendly marine solutions that can help shipowners and managers to comply with tightening environmental regulations. Posidonia 2022: DNV signs MOU with Saronic Ferries on development of electric ferry concept in Greece
At the Posidonia 2022 trade fair, classification society DNV signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saronic Ferries designed to enable the development of an electric ferry for local deployment in Greece. The collaboration is targeted towards a fully electric concept for deployment on short sea passenger routes in the Argosaronikos area.
