The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has published revised standards both for quality management systems (ISO 9001) and for environmental management systems (ISO 14001).

The revised standards came into force in 2026 and require organisations to update their existing management systems progressively over the next three years.

The course facilitator will combine presentations with group exercises and discussions based on how the revised requirements can be reflected in existing procedures, responsibilities, risk assessments, objectives, operational controls and performance indicators.

You will gain a better understanding of how to assess the impact of the revised requirements, plan the transition from the 2015 editions and strengthen the interfaces between the integrated management system, the ISM Code and relevant statutory, regulatory and other customer requirements.

The course focuses on:

  • Background and transition rules
  • Harmonized Structure and Integrated Systems
  • New and changed requirements of ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026
  • Implementation in the existing Integrated Management System ashore and on board
  • Interfaces with the ISM Code
  • Gap analysis and transition planning
