Introduction to sand management/erosion

This 2-day introductory course will help the participants understand, prepare for and deal with the implications of sandy service in a cost-effective manner.

Sand is an unavoidable by-product in most oil and gas production systems and sand management is a fine balancing act between allowing for sand production and controlling the consequences.

This 2-day course offers a broad introduction to the subject of sand management.

Learning objective

  • Identify risks with regards to sand in your production system in order to maximize efficiency
  • Adapt to sand production before you reach the limitations of your production system
  • Familiarize yourself with DNV-RP-O501 and the basics of erosion modelling.
