Energy Storage training course (online)

Grid-connected energy storage

Increase your understanding of the technical, market and financial aspects as well as risks associated with grid-connected energy storage.

With the grid-connected energy storage market maturing and commercial projects starting up, companies in different sectors are increasingly interested in the potential of energy storage for their business. But insight into technical, market and financial aspects is essential to realizing that potential.

As part of our educational offering that also includes workshops and interactive sessions, DNV offers a training that helps you increase your overall understanding of grid-connected energy storage systems.

These multiple day training courses on energy storage essentials are intended for professionals wishing to acquire a comprehensive overview of grid-connected energy storage and energy storage systems, and to have the latest technology, market conditions and issues clearly explained. Energy markets in relation to energy storage, the role of storage in providing flexibility to solve intermittency issues in the grid, business models, performance indicators, warranties, safety, risks and risk mitigation are covered.

Online & various locations

This course is offered as open enrollment session at various locations (Arnhem (the Netherlands), London (UK), Dubai (UAE) and Singapore) and/or as online training course. General content of the courses will be the same, but country specific information can be included, so please check the different course leaflets for more detailed information on the exact course content. To register, please refer to the different registration forms.

Energy Storage Essentials (online or Arnhem, the Netherlands) specific information
During this course, DNV will provide you with European and some local examples. The first part of this course will cover in the energy storage landscape and overview of grid-connected energy storage technologies. The second part will focus on lithium-ion technology in the technical, safety, market and business cases sessions.

Singapore course-specific information
In the Singapore course DNV will provide you with international and some local examples.

London course-specific information
The London course will cover the same general topics as the Arnhem course, however, DNV will provide you with UK specific examples.

Dubai course-specific information
In the Dubai course DNV will provide you with general topics such as the energy storage landscape, designing energy storage systems and the role of energy storage. On the second course day the afternoon session will focus on enabling energy storage in the GCC countries, delving deeper into the role of the governments, regulatory drivers and risks. International examples and lessons learned will be shared as well.

Your benefits
On completing DNV’s energy storage essentials course, you will be able to identify opportunities and risks for grid-connected energy storage in your business. And armed with a deeper understanding of the complexity of grid-connected energy storage projects, you will be able to make decisions and interact with stakeholders during the entire project life cycle.

For whom?
This course is intended for project developers, insurers and lenders interested in, or working with, energy storage. Policy makers, utilities, EPC contractors and other professionals will also benefit from DNV's world-renowned technical and commercial knowledge of energy storage.
An elementary knowledge of electricity and/or physics is recommended.

In-company and customized training
In-company and customized training courses are available on request in different languages, with content, location and duration adapted to suit your needs. Both classroom and online training courses are possible.

In designing the course, we call on our 360-degree view on electrical energy storage systems. Courses cover the energy storage landscape (trends, types and applications), essential elements (components, sizing), technical and project risks, and the energy storage market. Additionally, we can provide combined courses covering wind, solar and/or grid-connection as well.
