DNV’s Industrial Flexibility Scan

Understanding energy demand and flexible solutions for grid congestion and capacity management

European industries face the challenge of remaining competitive while energy availability and affordability become increasingly critical. Grid congestion and limited transport capacity pose challenges due to increased electrification, production expansion, and stricter sustainability targets. At the same time, the energy transition creates new opportunities, allowing companies to turn energy costs into revenue streams. DNV’s industrial flexibility scan helps you identify how your company can become more resilient and adapt to the challenges of congestion and volatile energy markets.

The flexibility scan

The scan provides your company with insight into its energy demand and flexible solutions for grid congestion. It offers:

Industrial flexibility scan

The scan is conducted on-site through two workshops, during which your colleagues and DNV specialists work together. Results are presented to your team, including a financial overview of the investment and operational costs per measure.

With the flexibility scan, DNV maps out how your company can increase its electricity demand (e.g., through electrification, production expansion, or other reasons) despite local grid congestion. We also assess how participation in regional congestion management can generate revenue and lower energy costs.

The scan meets Dutch government requirements and is therefore 50% subsidized. Follow-up steps, such as feasibility studies and implementation, are also eligible for subsidies.

The total price of the flexibility scan is EUR 10,000 excluding VAT, after the subsidy.
