Remi Eriksen receives prestigious “Technology leader of the year” award

Leading Norwegian technology magazine Teknisk Ukeblad has named DNV GL’s President and CEO, Remi Eriksen, as its “Technology leader of the year”.

“It is a great honour to receive this award, which I also want to dedicate to all my 14,000 colleagues in 100 countries,” says Eriksen.

“DNV GL’s purpose is to safeguard life, property and the environment, and the development and sharing of knowledge is one of our most important means of achieving this. Research and innovation are the very core of our company. I am confident that technology can solve many of the challenges the world is facing, and at the same time provide many business opportunities. I therefore view this award as a recognition of what our company stands for and for the work we are doing every day.”

Jan M. Moberg, the editor of Teknisk Ukeblad, highlights why Remi Eriksen was given the award:

"DNV GL’s CEO, Remi Eriksen, leads a company with a vision of having impact for a safe and sustainable future. Earlier this year he published Technology Outlook 2025 and recently he presented to the UN the report “the Future of Spaceship Earth” – which documents that the Sustainable Development Goals will not be achieved fast enough, but shows how business can contribute.

"Eriksen was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

"He also leads on to ensure a green shift within the Norwegian domestic shipping industry. For this CEO – who holds a Master degree in Electronics and Computer Science – the development of new technology and innovation is a leading star to solve challenges of the future. He has also led the merger between two of the world’s largest class societies."

Eriksen highlights that collaboration is a keyword for DNV GL. “We see daily that collaboration across sectors and technical competencies is the key when it comes to driving ourselves, our customers and industries, and even the world in the right direction. Every year we initiate a great number of collaborative innovation projects – throughout the world – where many players come together to share their best insight and experience. In this way we innovate together, and with much greater speed and impact than we could hope to achieve working alone," Eriksen emphasizes.

"One thing is for sure; that DNV GL will continue to invest in research and innovation – continue to develop new technological insight – and we will continue sharing it with our industries and stakeholders," he promises.
