Electric utilities are joining a consortium led by DNV to create value with improved analytics and tailored dashboards
Cascade software is used for asset performance management by nearly 100 utilities in North America, ensuring safe and reliable operations of critical grid assets such as transformers, breakers, switch gear, etc. The analytics module, Cascade Insight, provides flexible dashboards for data analysis, supporting asset management decisions regarding equipment health and maintenance. Cascade Insight enables utilities to create knowledge from vast amounts of accumulated and real-time data from key grid assets.
Cascade Analytics Consortium
In June of 2020, DNV created the Cascade Analytics Consortium, providing a collaborative environment where Cascade Insight customers, DNV and leading AI-driven analytics platform Sisense work together to drive clear value for utilities through the creation of targeted analytics. A key objective of the consortium is to pull together utility data analysts and knowledge workers into a forum where ideas can be shared from a common space. Membership is for utilities using or trialling Cascade Insight and is on a voluntary and complementary basis.
Innovation at the forefront
Some of North America’s most renowned and progressive utilities are members of the consortium. Through the regular meetings, presentations and project groups, utilities have been able to leverage the collaboration environment to learn from each other and to expand their knowledge base.
Cascade Insight is built on a platform provided by Sisense, who are key partners in the consortium, helping members make the most of utility data collected over many years. Ultimately, this will help improve areas such as prioritization of asset replacement and preventative versus corrective maintenance decisions, among others.
Proof of concepts, real results
