KEMA Laboratories paper named by IEEE for high impact on Power Industry

On February 1, a special edition was issued of the journal IEEE Transaction on Power Delivery. The objective of this edition, called “Special Section on Innovative Research Concepts for Power Delivery Engineering”, is to identify topics that are likely to result in a noteworthy impact on power industry in the next 30 to 50 years.

The objective of this edition, called “Special Section on Innovative Research Concepts for Power Delivery Engineering”, is to identify topics that are likely to result in a noteworthy impact on power industry in the next 30 to 50 years. The KEMA Laboratories paper “Test-circuits for HVDC Circuit Breakers” by Mr. Nadew Belda and Prof. René Smeets is identified as one of them. The top-level peer reviewed journal IEEE Transaction on Power Delivery selected 14 “highly innovative high risk type research topics papers showcasing potentially high impact research topics or directions”. We are proud IEEE top-level peers identified this paper of KEMA Laboratories’ research work, supported by the EU PROMOTioN team at DNV GL. As a result of this work and further developments in the PROMOTioN project, KEMA Laboratories will test the first HVDC circuit breaker in 2017.
