Dear visitor, keeping a fleet running smoothly means dealing with a constant flow of technical and operational questions. You may need a technical answer quickly, a survey arranged around the vessel’s schedule or information in the run-up to a PSC inspection. And when a question regarding a rule arises, finding the relevant requirement should take no time at all. The right support can make these everyday tasks easier to manage. By reducing unnecessary process steps, avoiding delays or travel where remote handling is possible, focusing on PSC preparation and making technical information easier to verify, DNV’s solutions can help your ship and shore teams use their time and resources more effectively. You are welcome to explore our DATE®, remote surveys, PSC solutions, Defect Handler and RuleAgent services to find the support that fits your operational needs.

“Can my issue be handled without waiting for physical attendance?”

What you get with DNV: Remote surveys / DATE-to-Remote

Not every survey requires physical attendance on board. Where the survey scope is technically eligible for remote handling, DNV can review the relevant documentation and evidence without sending a surveyor to the vessel. With DATE-to-Remote, when we identify that the case is suitable for remote handling, the remote survey can be initiated directly through DATE®.

“How prepared is my vessel for its next PSC inspection?”

What you get with DNV: PSC solutions

Our PSC solutions help your ship and shore teams identify areas that may require attention before an inspection.

The PSC Planner generates preparation checklists containing general, vessel-specific and port-specific items relevant to the ship type. The checklist also brings together our Top 18 detainable deficiencies and applicable Concentrated Inspection Campaign questions.

What you get with DNV: Defect Handler | AI RuleAgent

Registering and following up on a defect

Defect Handler provides guidance for registering defects through Fleet Status or DATE® and for submitting the required information to us for fast-track handling.

You can select from predefined defect scenarios, provide the relevant information and upload supporting documents. The structured process supports standardized handling, clearer workflow visibility and faster processing of standard defects. It can also reduce administrative work for both your ship and shore teams.

All the rules. No searching.

DNV rules and standards contain detailed technical requirements, but finding the sections relevant to a specific question can take time. Connected directly to our rules and standards database, the ΑΙ-powered RuleAgent guides you to potentially relevant rule sections and provides links to the official source material. When a vessel is selected, RuleAgent can use information such as the ship type and class notations to help narrow the search and improve the relevance of the results.

Fleet operations do not always fit neatly into a single category. A technical question may lead to a survey. A reported defect may require additional assessment. A rule requirement may need further interpretation before a decision can be made. Our experienced, local teams in Piraeus, Limassol and Istanbul are here to help our customers identify the appropriate DNV service and connect them with the relevant technical expertise.
