Reliability-centered maintenance
Reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) is a rigorous and systematic process used in our plant maintenance software to optimize maintenance strategy of assets. The process is built on the well-established methodologies of failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and failure modes effects and criticality analysis (FMECA) methodologies, which can be used to thoroughly analyse the impact of failures in a system. After identifying failures in the system, RCM can be used to determine the appropriate maintenance tasks to address each of the identified failure modes and their consequences. One of the key benefits of RCM is ability to account for the operational context in which the system is functioning. This in one of the main elements that govern the reliability of the system.
