DNV-RP-F109 On-bottom stability design of submarine pipelines, cables and umbilicals

The objective of this recommended practice (RP) is to provide rational design criteria and guidance for assessment of on-bottom stability of pipelines subjected to hydrodynamic loading with the aim of obtaining safe structural design.

The RP specifies requirements and guidance for the on-bottom stability design of
submarine pipelines. Two aspects of on-bottom stability design are covered:

• Lateral stability design
• Vertical stability design.
